Capital and opportunity exist. The intelligence required to connect them is fragmented. Kohvan brings together the financiers, institutions, relationships and market context required to make capital more discoverable, connectable and deployable.
01 — The Structural Friction
The opportunity. The capital. The structure. The relationships. They are often held across different people, institutions and markets, making the connections that move capital inherently fragmented.
The friction exists across:
02 — The Arena
Emerging and frontier markets represent one of the world's largest financing opportunities. Across infrastructure, critical minerals, trade, energy and development, the need for capital runs into the trillions, with an estimated $2.5 trillion annual funding gap across developing markets.
Yet these opportunities exist across a highly complex landscape of markets, jurisdictions, currencies and institutions.
52 markets. Different rules. Different realities. This is not one market.
It is an arena that demands intelligence, context and connection.
This is where Kohvan is being built.
03 — The Financiers
No individual sees the entire market. But collectively, the ecosystem sees far more than any single institution or database.
Kohvan brings financiers and institutions closer together, making fragmented intelligence more connected, discoverable and useful.
04 — About Founders
Over the last fifteen years, our founders have worked with some of Africa's largest financial institutions and alongside teams that have deployed more than $200 billion across 54 jurisdictions.
We have studied opportunities, designed financial products, crafted complex structures and brought together the institutions required to finance them.
But the most important thing we learned was not visible in the transactions that closed. It was everything that happened around the transactions that didn't.
For every dollar ultimately funded, there is a far larger universe of opportunities studied, relationships built, conversations held, structures considered, investors approached and transactions negotiated that never reach completion.
That work creates intelligence.
Most of that intelligence never enters a database. It stays with the people.
We came to see the people, their relationships and their context as one of the most valuable, and least visible assets in finance. Kohvan is being built to connect it.
